LEA VALLEY CATS PROTECTION.
These pages will tell you what we do to help cats and kittens in our area.  To provide a new home for a cat or kitten in our care, please see our Adopt a cat page.

As is the case with the almost 180 CP Branches across the UK, our Branch is staffed entirely by volunteers.  It operates within the following postcodes: EN1, EN2, EN3, EN4, EN6, EN7, EN8, EN9, N9, N18, N21 and CM20.  Within this very large area, we support the national charity’s simple and clear objectives:
      • Adopting – to find good homes for cats in need.
      • Neutering – to support and encourage the neutering of cats and kittens.
      • Informing – to improve people’s understanding of cats and their care through education and advice.
To do this, we raise our own funds through fundraising events and income generated by our 145 Chase Sise, Enfield shop.  If you would like to donate to help us to help more cats, then please click here: DONATE

We operate a Local Helpline service on 0333 567 4746 that is answered between 08.30 and 18.00 Monday to Friday and between 09.00 and 17.00 on Saturday.  Outside these times, an answerphone service operates.  If you leave a message, a volunteer will respond in due course.  When you leave a message, it is important that you tell us your full postcode and a telephone number so that we can contact you and deal with your enquiry properly.

PLEASE NOTE THAT, AS IS CURRENTLY THE CASE WITH ALL CAT 'RESCUE' CHARITIES, ALL OUR FOSTER PLACES ARE FULL.  IN ADDITION, AS OF MARCH 2024, WE HAVE A WAITING LIST OF AROUND 12 CATS AND KITTENS NEEDING TO COME INTO CARE.  THEREFORE, WE ARE NOT ABLE TO TAKE CATS INTO CARE AT SHORT NOTICE.  IT WILL TAKE US SOME WEEKS WORKING THROUGH THE WAITING LIST BEFORE WE ARE ABLE EVEN TO CONSIDER TAKING FURTHER CATS INTO CARE.

WE ARE SORRY THAT THIS SITUATION EXISTS, BUT THERE IS LITTLE THAT WE CAN DO ABOUT IT AT PRESENT.  HOWEVER, IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO VOLUNTEER TO HELP OUR BRANCH IN ANY WAY, WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU.  PLEASE CONTACT OUR HELPLINE 0333 567 4746.

Please call the Local Helpline:

      • if you are interested in providing a home to any one or more of our cats or kittens in care.  Details of cats to be homed are to be found in the Adopt a cat pages of this website.
      • if you require information on spaying or neutering your cat. You can also see our Neutering page for more information and, for those in need, we can provide assistance in the form of money-off vouchers towards the veterinary cost of neutering.
      • if you require information, help or are concerned about the condition of a cat in your area.  We will endeavour to do whatever we can to help.
EMERGENCIES: Please note that we are NOT staffed or equipped to handle emergency situations.  If you know about an animal that is injured or being treated cruelly, call the RSPCA's national 24-hour cruelty and advice line on 0300 1234 999 or visit http://www.rspca.org.uk
